Dr. Fraser: Our Board Certified Orthodontist

Dentists, Orthodontists, and Board Certified Orthodontists are the professionals who can offer you orthodontic treatment. Choosing an orthodontist who can provide high-quality orthodontic care is essential for you as a patient. Board Certified Orthodontists are the only ones who have completed the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) Certification. Read on to learn more about this certification.

Discovering the Facts

  • Only one in three orthodontists hold a Board Certification. Being a certified ABO orthodontist is a rare achievement.
  • To achieve board certification, you must put in significant effort and expertise.
  • The American Board of Orthodontics’ certification process comprises three parts: written testing, oral testing, and an oral defense before a panel of examiners of cases treated and finished according to high standards. For an orthodontist to complete the process, they must demonstrate actual patient care accomplishments over various patient problems.
  • The American Dental Association and American Association of Orthodontists recognize only the American Board of Orthodontics as a specialty board.
